Fitra is a mandatory act of charity required of every Muslim (upon whom it applies) at the end of Ramadan. Its purpose is to provide those in need with the means to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with dignity and to purify the observer from any shortcomings during the month of fasting.
ICO is committed to ensuring these funds are distributed to eligible members of our community in time for Eid al-Fitr. Applications are reviewed promptly by the Zakat Committee to ensure timely support.
Application Requirements
To apply for Fitra assistance, please complete the ICO Fitra Application Form linked below. To help us verify eligibility quickly, you must submit the following 6 supporting documents with your form:
- Driver’s License or Government ID
- Copy of the 1st page of your most recent Tax Returns (State/Federal)
- Proof of Residence (Recent utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement)
- Rent/Housing Verification (Canceled check or money order receipt)
- Bank Statements for the last 3 months
- Last 3 Paychecks received
Note: To ensure everyone receives help before Eid, we cannot process incomplete forms or submissions missing the required documents.
How to Submit
Once you have gathered your documents, please email your completed form and attachments to zakat@icorlando.org.
Processing Time: Please allow a minimum of 3 days for a response.
Interviews: The committee may request a brief in-person interview to better understand your needs.
Follow-up: If you have questions or haven’t heard from us after 7 days, please call our office at 407-238-2700 (Press 3 for the Zakat Department).
