Major Components of the Courtyard Project
The courtyard build-out consists of several large structural elements:
Concrete Work
- This is the largest portion of the project and includes:
- The concrete base of the courtyard floor
- Concrete for the arch walls
- Concrete for the entryway columns
- Sidewalk concrete surrounding the courtyard
Twin Minarets
Two minarets will be constructed at the main entrance, adding both beauty and
architectural identity to the masjid.
Tiling & Paving
Once the concrete work is complete, the arch walls will be tiled and the
courtyard floor will be fully paved.
Additional Project Elements
Alongside the major items, several additional systems and finishing elements
are part of this phase:
- Electrical and lighting throughout the courtyard
- Plumbing for the two outdoor wudu areas
- Audio and video systems, including speakers and security cameras
- A drainage system to ensure proper stormwater flow
- Sidewalks connecting the courtyard to the rest of the campus
- Landscaping in and around the courtyard area
Project Management & Timeline
ICO leadership is actively working to maintain an efficient and realistic
timeline while managing costs responsibly.
Oversight Efforts Include:
- Construction team meetings every two weeks (virtually or in-person)
- Monthly trustee meetings to review progress and approve next steps
- Finalizing detailed plans such as grading, lighting, and AV
- Collecting 2–3 competitive bids for all major components
Expected Timeline
The goal is to complete most—if not all—of the courtyard construction
within the next 12 months, inshaAllah.
