RESPECT

Treat fellow players, spectators, and staff with kindness and respect, in accordance with the Islamic values we hold dear.

  • ATTIRE: Modest and appropriate attire is required while using the court. Please adhere to the ICO values. Overtly body exposure or vulgarity is not allowed.
  • TIMING: The basketball court is available during designated hours. Please check schedule or inquire with the online schedule for specific time slots.
  • RESERVATION: If you wish to reserve the court for a specific time, please check the posted schedule online or contact the Islamic Center of Orlando office in advance.
  • CLEANLINESS: Keep the court and surrounding areas clean. Dispose of trash in designated bins.
  • NO FOODS OR GLASS BEVERAGES: No foods or glass beverages are allowed on the court at any time.
  • NO PETS: Pets are not allowed on the court.
  • PROPER FOOTWEAR: Proper non-marking basketball shoes are required. Playing with bare feet is not allowed.
  • NO BICYCLES, ROLLERBLADES, OR SKATEBOARDS: These are not allowed on the premises.
  • CHILDREN: Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • SALAT (PRAYER) TIMES: All players must stop playing during salat (prayer) times as posted or when adhan is called.
  • SALAT (PRAYER) TIME RESTRICTIONS: The use of the court is prohibited starting 10 minutes before, during, and 10 minutes after the scheduled posted salat (prayer) timings. On Friday, the courts shall remain closed from 1:15 PM to 2 PM for Jumu’ah khutbah and salat (prayer).
  • DUNKING AND HANGING: Dunking and hanging from basketball baskets is not allowed.
  • SPECTATORS: Parents and families may watch their children or family play during competitions or tournaments from the bleachers or sides on the floor.
  • LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS: ICO may not be held liable or responsible for personal items left, stolen, or broken.
  • INJURIES: ICO may not be held liable, accountable, or responsible for any injuries to person or property sustained while playing or using the court or ICO premises at any time.
  • RULE VIOLATIONS: Any violation of the ICO rules as posted shall be promptly reported to the ICO athletic committee for suitable and appropriate remedies.
  • CONFLICT RESOLUTION: Under no circumstances shall players, parents, or guardians attempt to correct, discipline, or altercate directly with fellow players who may be in violation of the posted rules.
  • FEEDBACK: Please report all concerns, complaints, or suggestions to the ICO athletic committee, preferably in writing, for consideration and appropriate actions.
